Station of Sounds is a moment of discussions on the mode of production of physical objects related to sound form. What motivates the production of the physical object and how to articulate the artistic and political discourse embedded within the materiality of the object. During the session, four artists will discuss their relationship with sound, through playing their own latest physical production or releases of interest. After each discussions, we will listen to the soundtracks selected by artists.

Station of Sounds goes Kiilan Äänipäivät (Vol. III) on lumbung radio
The third volume of Station of Sounds orients itself towards the physicality and ephemerality of the concept of a sound performance, and the volume is made in collaboration with Kiilan Äänipäivät to produce a series of interviews for lumbung radio as part of the documenta fifteen in Kassel, Germany. The guests are the performers of the festival: Lau Nau (aka Laura Naukkarinen), Dmitri Zherbin, Tuomas Toivonen, Timo Tuhkanen, Louna-Tuuli Luukka, Antti Tolvi, Minerva Juolahti.

Station of Sounds Vol. I was arranged as part of Ääneen – Sonic Arts Month in February 2021. The festival was realised in collaboration between MUU ry, Äänen Lumo, and several actors in the local field of sonic arts. Due to the recent development of the pandemic, the festival collaborates also with Station of Commons.
