breathing house

Breathing house is a sound and video installation composed out of metal, a cardboard box, a video that was inside the box, a sound scape and a woodcut print. The work addresses the experience of breathing, both inside and outside, in and out, in the self and in the house, by the house and by a person in the house. The theme of the piece relates to the anxiety of the act of breathing inside houses that breath either too much or don’t breath at all.

The piece was on view as part of the Noise Cream exhibition in MAA-tila in autumn 2017.
